Q: What do I get with a subscription to The Practice?
A: Subscribers get unlimited access to tons of great content—everything The Practice has to offer! With a subscription you receive:

Q: What types of subscriptions are available to me and how much do they cost?
A: We offer three types of subscriptions: individual, corporate, and nonprofit.
- An individual subscription ($95 USD) provides access to The Practice for one person for 1-year, and the subscription is non-transferable.
- A corporate subscription ($1,495 USD) provides access to The Practice for all of your organization’s employees with a valid organizational email address for 1-year. For example, a corporate subscription for Example & Example, LLP would provide everyone with an “@exampleandexample.com” address full access.
- A non-profit subscription ($1,195 USD) provides access to The Practice for all of your organization’s employees with a valid organization email address for 1-year. For example, a nonprofit subscription for Example University would provide everyone with an “@example.edu” address full access.
Q: What is the difference between a corporate subscription and a non-profit subscription?
A: Substantially, each option provides the same access to The Practice (all members of the organization with an organizational email address). A non-profit subscription allows universities, charities, NGOs, and other designated 501c3-type organizations access to The Practice at a discounted price. Q: How do I subscribe to The Practice?

Q: What happens if I have trouble with the payment process?

Q: I’m a student at Harvard Law School. How do I access The Practice?
A: All HLS students, staff, and faculty have complimentary access to The Practice through their HLS email accounts. Click here for detailed guidance on claiming your institutional account.
Q: Can I pay by check?
A: We accept payment by check for corporate and non-profit subscriptions only. To subscribe via check, please email email@example.com with your intention to subscribe and we will will set-up access credentials. Checks can be made payable to “Harvard Law School” with “Center on the Legal Profession-The Practice” in the memo line and mailed to: Center on the Legal Profession Harvard Law School 1563 Massachusetts Avenue, Pound Hall 204 Cambridge, MA 02138 USA
Q: Can I subscribe for someone else?
A: Individual subscriptions are linked to the user name and password of the account holder. They cannot be transferred. Therefore, if you are subscribing for someone else, please make sure to enter the user name and password of the person of that will be using the account.
Q: How can I renew my subscription?
A: You will find the option to renew your subscription to The Practice on your “My Account” page. Click the link below your subscription information and you will be brought to the renewal page, where you will verify your account details and proceed to checkout by clicking the “Renew” button. Note that you can renew your subscription at any time. Your renewed subscription will take effect starting when your current subscription expires, so there will be no overlap and no gap in between your subscriptions. Q: I was given a coupon code. Now how do I use it?
A: Simple! Start by heading to the “Subscribe” page here. On this page, you will see multiple “Have a coupon?” links, each under a different subscription option. Under the subscription type that best describes your situation, click the “Have a coupon?” link, enter your coupon code in the field provided, and then click the “Apply coupon” button. The price of the subscription will now be adjusted according to your coupon code. Enjoy reading!
Q: I just purchased an institutional subscription. What do I do next?
A: First off, thanks for subscribing! Within 2-3 business days (often much sooner) your organization will be added to the corporate subscriber list. By default, we will use the organizational part of the email address that you used to subscribe (from the “@” sign onwards). For example, if the email you subscribed with is Jane@Smith.com, anyone with an “@smith.com” email address will have full access to The Practice. We will email you once your corporate subscription is setup. From that point on, members of your organization can just click here to register with their organizational email address. Please feel free distribute that corporate registration link to anyone in your organization!
Q: My organization has a corporate/non-profit subscription. How do I activate and claim my account?
A: Easy! Click here and enter your organizational email address and a password. You will then be sent a confirmation email to that address with a link to activate your account.

Q: How do I sign in?
A: The sign in tab is located at the top-right of The Practice‘s homepage. If you are already signed in, this will be replaced by a “sign out” tab. For now, we’ll save you the time! Just click here and enter your username and password. (Can’t find your username or password? Check your Practice registration email.)
Q: How do I manage my subscription?
A: To view or make changes to your subscription, sign in and click on the tab labelled “My Account” on the upper right of the menu bar.
Please note that all subscriptions are final and non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time, but members who cancel will not receive a refund for unpublished issues.
Q: Can I access my subscription on multiple devices?
A: Yes, you will be able to access The Practice on any device so long as you have a subscription. You will of course need to sign in with your username and password on new devices.
Navigating The Practice
Q: Where can I view past issues of The Practice?
A: Easy! Just click the “Issues” tab on the menu bar on the upper left. Here you will find the table of contents for the most recent issue as well as links to all previous issues.
Q: How do I search The Practice for specific topics or authors?
A: The Practice now offers a versatile new search function to help you find what you are after. You can either click the search icon (the little magnifying glass) on the upper left of the menu bar to do a key word search or you can click the “categories” button, also on the upper left of the menu bar, and select a topic area you are interested in.
About The Practice
Q: How often are new issues of The Practice published?
A: The Practice is a bimonthly publication, meaning new issues come out every other month. However, new material is available in off-months as well through our bimonthly newsletters. All subscribers receive these newsletters during months between issues of The Practice.
Q: Is The Practice available in print?
A: The Practice is a digital-only magazine. There is currently no print version of the publication. However, we encourage sharing via social media!
Q: I have some feedback I’d like to submit to make The Practice even better. How do I get in touch?
A: We welcome all commentary on our articles or The Practice in its entirety. Please submit your feedback by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: Can I quote The Practice?
A: Absolutely! We encourage it! Quotations of up to 100 words per article is permitted with attribution to The Practice. However, material may not be republished without permission from the Center on the Legal Profession. For more details regarding permissions, email us.

We may use your IP address to help administer our website and understand which parts of our website are most heavily used. We do not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information. This means that while sessions may be tracked, users will remain anonymous. We require each user to submit an email address in order to register and subscribe to our publication and newsletters.
Use of information
The Center on the Legal Profession staff uses the information gathered above to tailor site content to user needs and generate aggregate statistical reports. We do not disclose site usage by individual IP address. Email addresses provided by users are stored for the purposes of maintaining user accounts and newsletter mailing lists, to which users may subscribe or unsubscribe at any time.
